I have enjoyed two work placements at Gifford's Chester Office after completing my first and second year of a Civil and Structural Engineering degree at The University of Liverpool.

These work placements have provided me with a better understanding of what is involved in a range of engineering projects and have allowed me to work with some great people. The experience has helped immensely in linking the theoretical work at university into real practical situations. Gifford has been very supportive and the people throughout the company have been extremely friendly and helpful.

I am delighted that my work placement this year has led to being awarded Gifford sponsorship for the remainder of my degree. I am really looking forward to returning to Gifford next year and eventually as a Gifford Graduate Engineer.

My main ambition over the next two years is to continue to gain experience and skills as an engineer during my placements, and obtain a masters level degree.
